The Friends of the Loveland Public Library hosts events of all sorts and sizes, from our yearly fundraiser classics to special red-letter events. Click on an event name at right to find out more.

Community activities and events funded by the Friends include:

  • Book Fairs at Barnes and Noble in Loveland
  • Semi-Annual Used Book Sales
  • Loveland Lights, a celebration of winter holiday traditions
  • Loveland Loves to Read, an annual "one book/one community" program
  • Murder Mystery Night - solve a mystery unfolding before you!
  • Pints for People, in conjunction with Loveland Aleworks

    The theme for this year is “Holiday Traditions Around the World.” Children will be issued a “passport” and will explore and learn about how different countries celebrate the holidays as they visit stations around the library representing these countries.  After visiting each station, passports will be stamped. 

    Other activities will include:

    • Gingerbread and carving workshops (Sat. 9-noon and 1-4; Sun. 1-3:30)
    • A holiday book and bake sale sponsored by the Friends of the Loveland Public Library
    • Children’s book authors Joanna and Eric Johnson, Kelly Shepherd, and Ellen Javernick will display, sell and sign their books 
    • Several area school choirs, and Lia Rudeen, a budding young harpist 
    • A Kwanzaa storyteller 
    •  A Winter House Competition - think Gingerbread House without the baking!

    Colorado Gives Day Returns With $1 Million Incentive Fund

    Community First Foundation and FirstBank will present Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. This annual statewide movement celebrates and increases philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. The $1 Million Incentive Fund created by the partners is one of the largest gives-day incentive funds in the country.

    When: 24 hours, starting at 12 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017

    How: Donate online at ColoradoGives.org on December 5, 2017. Or schedule your donation in advance starting November 1!
